A husband has been arrested on suspicion of
murder after the his estranged 18 year old wife's headless body and body
parts were found in a river.
Olga Onipenko's bowels were removed
after her death, said police, in a case which has shocked Russia.
The couple had had a custody fight over
their nine month old son after they had broken up.
According to the Police, her husband,
22 year old Viktor Onipenko had already confessed to the murder
but his relatives insist he is innocent.
The wife's body was found in the River
Krivaya Bolda several days before her head was found, said police.
Initially, she was identified by a tattoo.
Police allege that during a row over custody
he grabbed a knife and stabbed her in the stomach and back.
The child is now in an orphanage in
Astrakhan, on the shore of the Caspian Sea.
