A mild drama ensued at the Senate plenary
session yesterday when PDP senators refused to second a motion for the adoption
of votes and proceedings of the Senate's sitting last week Thursday October
29th. The PDP senators had staged a walkout on the said day during the
confirmation process for former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
At yesterday's sitting, Senate President
Bukola Saraki called on Sen. Isiaka Adeleke (APC) to move the motion for the
adoption of votes and proceedings of the Senate from last week's sitting which
he, Adeleke, did.
Saraki then called on PDP senator, Peter
Nwaoboshi to second Adeleke’s motion. This he refused to do, stating that he
was not at the sitting.
“My President, I will not be able to second
the motion because I was not at the plenary to know what was done.”he said
When Saraki noticed that
none of the PDP senators were willing to second the motion, he called on APC
Senator Ibrahim Gobir to second the motion.
