Muslim pilgrims from Kebbi state were left in utter shock in the early hours of
today after a Boeing 747 model Aircraft with the registration number N5-MBB
belonging to Max Air which was supposed to convey them to Saudi Arabia
developed technical problems after three attempts to take off from Sir Ahmadu
Bello Sardauna International Airport in Birnin Kebbi. One of the pilgrims who
spoke to Dailytrust said the incident happened at exactly 1.30am today.
Chairman
Committee on Flight, Kebbi State Hajj Task Force, Sani Dododo while confirming
the incident, said the pilot of the aircraft said the plane developed a mechanical
fault
"The
pilot explained to us that one out of the three engines developed mechanical
problem which they are making consultation to see how the problem will be
solved. The pilot also advised that another flight be brought to lift the
intending pilgrims and the effected flight will be taken to Kano for
repair."
The
Kibbi stae governor has however made arrangements for another plane to take the
pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
