Shots
have been fired at a US airport after a machete-wielding man reportedly
attacked two people including a guard at a security checkpoint.
Police
raced to the horror incident at Louis Armstrong International Airport in New
Orleans, Louisiana amid reports that one of the victims worked for the US
Transport Security Authority.
A
spokesman for the local sherrif's office said the 63-year-old suspect was
threatening agents with wasp spray and a machete before he was shot by an
officer.
He
is now unresponsive, the spokesman added.
Pictures
on Twitter showed a man's body lying beside a machete.

Farah Stockman, who witnessed the alleged attack, said: "Everyone was
hiding behind chairs and in doorways.
"The
body was lying in a pool of blood.
"A
knife was lying by the body. A woman - maybe a TSA agent - in blue had been
lightly stabbed.
